My 99 Daihatsu Sirion 1.0, 3 cylinder :D

Hello fellow petrolheads, what do you think about my daily JDM sh*tbox? Some advise for upgrades?
Doesent look like much, but this 56HP car have some go, it´s light and on twisty roads can keep up with more powerful cars.

Mods done so far: ported throttle body, new fuel lines, cold air intake,
Mods to be done: Open or sport exhaust, lowered springs, maybe throttle bodies and of course, interior stripping (im not into comfort stuff even on daily car :D ).

Cannot do mods like turbo or engine swap, because of pedantic czech authorities…

Those extra lights don’t appeal to me to be honest. You have very good plans.. Wider wheels could give you wider track so more stability. You could make some strut bars to stiffen it up?

Extra lights are installed just for better visibility, because i live in countryside with a lot of bambis around and the factory headlights are just useless, you are right i don´t like them either, but i need them, maybe i will change them for smaller ones and install them into the grill. I cannot install wider wheels and tyres just because of stupid laws in my country. Strut bars is good idea! Car upgrades in my country are very limited by law, you cannot install wider wheels, turbo or even change engine in your car… You cant even install rollcage in your car “because it is dangerous”… dangerous safety feature good sh*t right?

I want it. It’s good for you to own your own car, unlike me. I drive a Nissan March and it is not even mine. Second hand car prices are way too expensive here. Even a 1981 Renault 5 cost nearly 2000 USD here, and I doubt if it runs well. I will need at least 4000 USD to purchase a decently running, still reliable car.

Wow, it is crazy to buy second hand car for that much money. This daihatsu is my third car (1st peugeot 106 1.4 second Rover 214Si). I bought it for 19000CZK (around 760USD) and it is in perfect condition. I have done with it around 30 000 kilometers without any issues, just basic service as oil change, spark plugs and thats all.

for example : http://adf.ly/1OpeOZ (bmw 318i compact) has a little bit of rust here and there but nothing major

Why not? I like this car, i love how it handles. i love how simple it is and i want to upgrade it a bit… at this time i can afford brand new soulless car but why? It doesent matter what you drive, it doesent matter how expensive your car is… All what matters is how you feel about car you work on with your own hands. :)

Díky sousede ;) … máme, legislativa stojí za hovno… prostě země, kde si člověk může legálně bez povolení postavit malé letadlo, ale nesmí si dát širší kola na auto… bananová republika jak vyšitá

I have always had a weird fetish for these Sirions. Really lovely bro! That light bar is awesome!

Thank you! You are right… Sirion looks pretty weird from all angles, but in same time its cool, maybe because they look different than euro cars.

I used to drive a Pug 107, 3 cylinder 1 litre car. Surprisingly fast to 50mph, then nothing but shaking and noise :D

Turn it into a proper racecar: strip it, weight reduction to the max, coilovers, sticky rubber and straight pipes. Won’t be road legal, but damn it’d be fun to drive

I had 106 as my first car (still have it, but now its driven by my sister), with tarmac tearing 55kw 1.4 8V engine :D awesome car, handles like a go cart. Small Peugeots are just awesome machines.

Make it at your taste! I would recommend exhaust upgrade so the 3 pot symphony comes out louder!
