My 1MZ-FE Avalon has blown the right valve cover. Would you reccomend a kit or merely replacing the gasket.
Disclaimer ENGINE DEPICTED IS NOT MINE, I FOUND IT ON THE INTERWEBS, BUT IS THE SAME MODEL.
So, I have a HEFTY amount of sludge buildup on lower left side of my engine bay, from a recently blown valve cover gaslet. I live in the desert, so its a mixture of road dust, sand and gravel making it a fairly thick coat.
Now I have the option of replacing the one gasket that’s blown, and save myself hours of labor and cash money, while neglecting to address a grocery list of parts that could cause a way more serious issue than what it is now.
Or, I could shell out more than twice the cost of that for a kit to replace both vavle cover gaskets and a plethora of other ones that should be very beneficial, especially since many of them will be removed anyways in order to get to the left side valve cover. I’m always down for a project, and increasing efficiency is my number one priority, aside from saving money.
Do the pros outweigh the cons? Or is this another money pit that is better left alone rather than repaired?
Also, if I do take option #2, I will have the opportunity to paint the covers, and the manifold if I choose to. I was thinking Gold or Ferrari Yellow, with black lettering. Any input/suggestions? Thanks for your help.

Also, hadn’d occurred to me that there wasn’t any writing on my covers, which means just painting the covers, and without the pop of the black I’m not sold on the colors anymore.
