Hey Guys, here is my first car: the Renault Megane 1.6 16V. in my opinion this is the best car for a beginner: safe, reliable, cheap to run, 5 seats and also fun to drive. What were your first cars and how did you like them? :)
1989 Ford Ranger XLT. 4 pot, 5spd, great first vehicle. Totaled it while out 4-wheelin’.
Congratulations! :) It really is a great choice. I liked my litte Hyundai, (which was also choosen by your criteria) lightly tuned it but eventually sold it because I felt experienced enough to move on and I also got more ambitious.
I haven’t got my first car yet - But I am leaning towards Audi or VW perhaps. Possibly Ford? I will see nearer the time but those are my initial ideas!
Renault Laguna “00 - Executive edition. It’s got decent horsepower thanks to the turbo, it’s comfy, all leather, and EXTREMELY well maintained. It’s got 265k km on the odometer, but so far it has only broken down once.
It still is my current car, I use it everyday, it does around 7.5l/100km. Bought the car for 750€, a bargain…
Love the car! Ofcourse there are better cars out there, but for a first car I can’t complain. And as a “safety-option”. I can’t speed at all. The car has so little grip in the corners I don’t even try to corner fast… :l
So yea, recap: Love the car, speed/acc is great, cornering yells with understeer and 7.55/100km, which is quite a lot for a student who doesn’t have much money.
Wait did you say fun?!RELIABLE?!!! WTF? A Renault? This is a joke.
no, I’m actually serious. did you ever drive a Renault? you don’t need 200+HP or RWD to have fun and enjoy driving your car. and my car only has 50k on the clock, wich is really low for the age of 12 years.
2003 Nissan Sentra XE 1.8L inline-4 with the 4 speed auto. not the fastest car but make up for it in the turns. Is a good car all the power is down low awesome car to hoon in.
My first car was a 1.0 K11 Micra. Absolutely bombproof, very reliable, once was accidentally run on diesel, got bumped, saw harsh winters and only once died on me when the alternator failed so the battery ran out of charge.
If you bought one of these in decent condition and put some money into it it’d make an insanely good little hot hatch!
My first car for the road was a 1993 Renault 5 Campus which I swiftly converted to a GT Turbo. absolutely amazing car, and way more practical than you’d expect!
