Calling out all bmw people I have a e36 318i (slowest car ever) with the m43 engine, my question is, can I swap my intake for a m40 intake. Will it fit right on? ☺️😇
I would suggest the 6 cyl engines but if you really want to stick with 4 cyl engines, go for M42 or M44.
I dont really have the resources or the money for a engine swap :P I was asking bout the intake, will it fit, yes or no? :)
Are you asking about an intake manifold or just the intake?
The entire thing. The manifold :)
I’ve got an M42, but I swear I’ve ready somewhere that a lot of the parts are interchangeable between those to engines. Don’t quote me on it but if you really need to know and can’t find out, I would suggest calling your local BMW dealer or just BMW period. It’s worth a shot.

Won’t make any difference.. it’s a waste of money.. you are talking about changing the size of the intake, less restrictive.. the computer will see that, and adjust the timing, and change the air flow.. to meet the gas intake.. which will result in the same power, unless the computer can’t compensate, in which case you will just get a misfire code, lean out, and likely wreck the engine.. you can’t change the intake unless you do, the intake, fuel injectors, exhaust, and computer, in which case you would be better off just swapping the engine..
