7 Reasons Why The Subaru BRZ Engine Bay Is Winning.

Comments

Engineering Explained
  1. Engine is placed down low, and as far back as possible.
  2. Boxer engines already have a low CG.
  3. No large obnoxious engine covers.
  4. Single quick tab for accessing the fuse box.
  5. Quick tabs for accessing the air filter.
  6. Oil filter is right up top, very easy access.
  7. Battery is placed on the passenger side, as far back as possible, and is still easily accessible. Excellent from a weight distribution perspective.

Tell me just how ‘winning’ it is when you realize you need to change your spark plugs. Have fun digging.

Does the 86/frs has any differences?

A brz/frs is just a newer and more expensive Porsche 944, compared to a base model the 944 is barely slower 0-60 and handles just as well, the 944S and 944 turbo outperforms the brz/frs in every aspect at a fraction of the cost

1 reason why it’s not winning: lack of turbo.

V-Tech and EcoBoost kicked in yo

This car needs a bit more power and some stickier rubber and it could prove to be serious threat at the track. It handles great and is very responsive. Great drivers cars that makes you appreciate having low power to enjoy the feel. That sound box is lame idea however…

Isn’t the boxer perfectly balenced too?
I love the GT86/BRZ. I think these days cars are getting too powerful. Anything more than 250bhp and you can’t put your foot down for more than a few seconds without the risk of loosing your licence! Sometimes it’s nice to have something with a small revvy engine that has to be screwed to make progress.

funny that everyone complaints about the 86/brz/frs’s low power figure but no ae86’s even low power figure
