As a petrolhead i've never understood the differences between 180sx 200sx and 240sx i mean they look almost the same... and sometimes when i search on google 180sx i get an s13 silvia ... or 200sx i get an s14. Can anyone help me with that dilemma?:D

180SX—-> Japan and only some other countries got them. It’s the hatchback variant of the S13 platform, it is NOT a Silvia, it’s similar. Available engines were the CA18DET, SR20DE, and the SR20DET.
200SX—-> European model basically the same as the 180SX just with a different name. Only the CA18DET was offered.
NOTE: In the U.S. the Silvia S12 is called a 200SX but that’s a different story…
240SX—-> U.S. spec of the 180SX, available engines were the KA24E and the KA24DE… basically we got the sh!tty versions of this car…
So let me get this straight, the 240SX is the U.S. spec of the 180sx (s13 hatch) AND s14??
Carlos got it! SR20DET is by far the besst of those engines, the CA18DET is okay but tends to break quite a bit.
KA24’s are good for drifting and it’s nice to see some people use them, but I wish we got the SR20DET…
CA18DET is a good engine if you have an external oil cooler sinse it tends to overheat the oil and break almost the whole engine :(
Incase you’re wondering about the S13 Coupes.
S13 Silvia—-> Japan and only some countries, they WEREN’T available in Europe but some people have imported them. Available engines were the CA18DE, CA18DET, SR20DE, and the SR20DET.
North America—-> It’s called the 240SX here, available engine are the KA24E and the KA24DE.
Diden’t they get renamed becaues of some reasons?
240sx EU
200sx USA
180sx Japan.
Or like Carlos not sure :l
Nissan was just being dumb with their naming, I don’t know why though…
Silvia S14 info:
S14 Silvia—-> Japan and some countries, available with the SR20 and SR20DET.
200SX—-> European model the same as the Japanese one.
240SX—-> In the U.S. it was once again called the 240SX… KA24DE was only available…
Silvia S15 info:
Silvia S15—-> Available in Japan and in Europe, SR20DE and SR20DET were available.
200SX—-> In Australia and New Zealand the S15 was called a 200SX…
North America—-> We never got them…. :(
Thanks a lot mate you were really helpfull… damn nissan they couldn’t make it more simple :)
