5 Modern Sleeper Cars Which Are Fast And Actually Subtile
So i saw a blogpost from a few hours ago, stating a list of 5 modern-day sleeper cars which are shockingly fast.
Too bad there was only one sleeper on the list, since Mercedes AMG, Audi S and Teslas aren’t really modest or quiet.. (well the Tesla is, but everyone knows what it is by now)
Let’s finish this list!
Mercedes E500 Estate
The Mercedes E-class isn’t considered really slow.. but it can really suprise you since you can’t really tell the difference between an E250 or an E500.. (Unless you pop the hood..)
The E500 comes with a 4.7 V8 (why not 5.0? E500 is a lie!) packing about 408hp.
So it looks just like an everyday mercedes, but with a sweet V8. Sleeper for sure!
BMW 225i xDrive Active Tourer
I’m not a fan of the BMW 2 series active tourer.
However… the 225i xDrive is something else, 231hp on all 4 wheels.
Well.. thats not something i’d expect in a minivan.
The 340i mensioned earlier today wasn’t a bad one either, however i already expect a 3 series to be quick, not much of a sleeper stealth left!
Volvo V60 D6 Twin Engine
When talking about sleepers, there must be a Volvo present.
I chose the V60 D6 Twin Engine, because of the combined power you can’t really see down the hood.
With about 290 hp combined it’ll sure give you a nice push.
Just keep those pesky logos from the back and nobody will suspect it is really fast..
Volkswagen Passat 2.0 TSI
I saw quite some comments about the VW Golf and Passat.. Well, here it is..
The more aggresive looking nose sure a more sporty appearance for sure, but it never had a really sporty design before.. so it still gives me the feeling it’s just another common slow basic diesel or something.. but that’s just me!
The 2.0 TSI packs about 280hp which is a bit more then you’d expect right?
Opel Insignia 2.0 Turbo 4x4
Another one i usually see all over the place with a basic diesel, so again.. can it be fast too?
Hell yeah. This 250hp version surely is strong enough to get it moving.
It’s capable of hitting 250km/h (thats 155 for you guys on the weird side of the world) which is awesome if you drive a station wagon :D
Allright, this is my version of the “Modern day sleeper car” based on Matt Robinsons post.
I also kept all the cars standard, since there is a huge list of cars that can be build into sleepers with a LS1 or 2ZJ, making the list endless!
