Cancer in the Car community: Fanboys

There was once a time when the car community was a peaceful place, where everyone can laugh and make jokes without problems. But there was also a time when a disease struck the car community like a soldier getting killed in the midst of war. And that disease were fanboys, one of the many blemishes in the Internet Car Community. I am Dr .240Z, a PHD of Severe Internet R*tardation, and an expert in the Cancer of the car community.

Many people here hates fanboys here right? But the real question here is, what is a fanboy?
According to Google, a fanboy is a male fan, especially one who is obsessive about a company, video game, person, etc. There are many examples of fanboys in the internet, as if fanboys only existed in the car community. There are Call of Duty fanboys, Minecraft fanboys, FIFA fanboys, basically anything mainstream has fanboys. Examples of fanboys in the car community? JDM fanboys, Euro fanboys, and Muscle fanboys. Those 3 fanboys are the main types of fanboys that exist in the Internet car community, and boy they are the worst. Everyone has encountered a fanboy once in their lives right? And its no surprise to see a fanboy here in the Internet Car community fighting with an intelligent user, only to later be banned by a mod, heck remember NGUHHHHH? That was me, I was just doing an experiment on how CT reacted when there’s a fanboy, so I decided to pose as a Muscle car fanboy and whats the result? Multiple people throwing the sh*t I threw at them back at me and got banned by a mod. So its no doubt that the Internet car community hates fanboys with a passion. Recently there were a few attacks made by a couple of GTR fanboys but got dealt with quickly, like carguy05 and car guy.

There are more fanboys here in CT, I’ve seen a handful of Muscle car fanboys boasting about their V8’s when they really don’t own a car in real life and a few Euro fanboys bragging about how their German cars are superior to the Japanese cars and American cars when he has never been in a Japanese or American car in real life, and JDM fanboys boasting about how their cars are superior and they don’t need more cylinders to compete, when in reality they don’t know a thing about cars. These fanboys, usually don’t know what their talking about, their fcking clueless man, and there are many ways to deal with them. But for now, the main ways to deal with the fanboys, are either Converting them to true car guys who knows how to respect other’s opinions and other cars, or simply get them out of here, but usually when the fanboy is forced to leave he will just create another account or migrate to Facebook, Youtube, Twitter, Instagram, reddit, or other social media or forums. Maybe when they leave they will realize their mistake of being complete fcks and become a true car guy, and probably come back to CT because the other Social Media or forums are full of cancer. Theres no doubt that fanboys are a huge problem in the Internet car community, and it needs to be stopped immediately.

What you see up there is an example of a GTR fanboy’s logic. Apparently he is portrayed as a GTR loving idiot who is fcking clueless when it comes to cars, thinks everything else is just sht, and the only other car he respects is the Bugatti Veyron, but a GTR fanboy will usually think the Veyron is slower than the GTR, so maybe the fanboy represented in this picture is a bit more respectful than your average GTR fanboy. Don’t get me wrong, at one point of our lives we were all a fanboy of something once, I was once a Veyron fanboy, and I thought the Veyron was the best car in the world. But hey, we all mature, or we still keep obsessing over the car were fanboying and we will be nothing more than some kid who lives in his mother’s basement and loves nothing but the Veyron. The fanboys you see today will someday mature and turn to real car guys or will think its pointless and turn to your average non car guy, but if they refuse to mature they will fail at life. So dealing with fanboys is not hard, like I said before, you can get them out of here or teach them to be normal car guys, or they will mature naturally, or refuse to mature and fail in life, or think its pointless and become a non car guy. Teaching fanboys to become real car guys is not very hard, usually its just teaching them what you know about cars. But converting fanboys to real car guys is not just about giving them more knowledge about cars, its also to teach them how to respect other cars and other people’s opinions, so they can become a real car guy. Getting them out of here is not a hard process as well, you just report him, call a moderator, and the moderator bans the guy making the problem, but when the fanboys leave, they may either migrate to other social media/forums or come back to CT in another account, or realize their mistake and stop being fanboys.

Other than fanboys themselves, there is another problem in CT that is related to fanboys, that is thinking a normal JDM/Euro/Muscle fan is a fanboy. I mean seriously, just because they like a certain car doesn’t mean their instantly a fanboy, sometimes it get get to the point where the guy who thinks the JDM/Euro/Muscle fan is a fanboy is worse than a fanboy, heck sometimes 1 fanboy will accuse others of being fanboys of other cars when their fanboys themselves! What the Hell! Don’t accuse someone of being a fanboy, that’s just wrong man, don’t do that, just because he likes a Veyron or a GTR or whatever doesn’t mean he’s a fanboy. Besides, everyone was a fanboy once in their lives, and maybe you took it to extreme when you were once a fanboy of a certain car. I mean seriously, I’ve seen people who are saying Mustang memes are wrong called Mustang fanboys, and normal people who said they like a Supra or Skyline or something, will have people jumping on him saying hes a stupid 10 year old Supra/Skyline fanboy. Just don’t accuse others of being a fanboy when their not, maybe on some occasions they are more mature than you. I once saw someone defending Mustangs on a Mustang crowd meme when the maker called him a Mustang fanboy. But these guys are way rarer than actual fanboys themselves, since the guys who call others fanboys are probably just clueless.

Now, the fanboys can get so out of hand, they give the car their obsessing over a bad name. Don’t get me wrong, one part I don’t like the GTR is the fanboys, other than no manual(not much of a problem) and the 2007-2016 ones don’t appeal to me that much. Sometimes a car gets a lot of hate because it has a huge number of fanboys, like the Supra. It was such a good car, it looks sexy, its fast, the 2JZ is good for a nice engine swap and its easily tuneable. but many people started hating it because of the fanboys, and that’s where the term that basically all JDM legends need to be modified to beat anything originated, from the fanboys that think it can beat anything. And because of all the Supra fanboys, I left the MK4/MK3 Supra for its little brother that won the WRC, the Celica GT-4. Fanboys give bad names to everything they love, its like a nice and beautiful girl who is single, keeps dating, then ended up being ruined, she gets abused and, that other thing, unwanted children, lost that thing, basically she got ruined. So don’t fanboy over a car too much, your just telling people “We’re ruining this car for you so you can hate it!”.

Well, thats all i got for today, Thanks for reading guys! Dr. 240Z out!

I think you can have a favourite but just don’t boast about it like its the best thing on the planet because nothing is,it all down to personal preference, but each car is special in its own way, whether it be really fast or really slow

I agree. I hate how most people have to be with one side or the other. Why can’t we all just love everything for what it is?

Right off the bat I must disagree. There has never been peace in the car world. And hopefully there never f×cking will be.
We need people who are stubborn in their love for a certain car, manufacturer, engine type, N/A v. Forced Induction…etc.
If you encounter a fanboy:

  1. Ask them why they love (blank) so much.
  2. Tell them your opinion on the issue.
  3. If they start calling you a ret@rd, just laugh and scroll.
  4. Leave the fanboys alone. They can like what they want.

It’s the same exact situation when somebody tells me to “stop hating the Prius, you’re just being an ass.”
When in reality, I have SO many reasons to hate that pile of hippie garbage.
And…I have many reasons to respect it.
