6 Reasons Why I LOVE Cars

My passion for cars motivates me, and when my passion runs endlessly then motivation comes a lot easier.

I remember very clearly when my girlfriend (before we became official) said to me during a car ride that she didn’t get what the big deal was with cars for guys, and then she said, “It’s just metal”. I’ll be honest that annoyed me a lot because to me and other car enthusiasts that is simply not true. A car is more than just a heap of metal, plastic, wires, and in some cases carbon fiber. Every car enthusiast has their own reasons for why they are passionate about cars, but here are my six reasons and you might resonate with some or all of them.

Expression

Cars are more than just an obsession to me. They are also a form of expression. Modified cars tend to show a person’s taste and style. See that guy with the Armytrix Audi R8 wrapped in baby blue? I have a hard time imagining that guy’s style as being the quiet kid in class who sits in the back and actively avoids eye contact with the teacher so that he doesn’t get called on.

Fun

I mean come on, there are very few people I know of who don’t find flooring it down the straight at Willow Springs in a Ferrari 458 fun as either the driver or the passenger. My girlfriend does not care about cars much and yet she giggles when I floor it down a empty straight road. In fact, one time she told me to do it!

Freedom

If you live in Southern California you NEED a car if you want to seriously get around. I didn’t get my license until the summer after high school ended so throughout my years in high school I felt confined because I didn’t have a car. If felt so good when I didn’t have to ask people for rides and that when there was a place I wanted to go I could just get into the car and go at anytime. It comes in real handy when I need motivation because I’ll get in the car at midnight and drive out to an exotic car dealership to look at some cars.

Socially Acceptable

Having a meal with somebody new and introducing yourself? How about going on a first date with a girl you’ve been eyeing for a while? Or how about introducing yourself on the first day of class in college? At some point you’ll need to introduce yourself and talk about your interest/hobby. If you say that you like cars then most people will be like “oh that’s cool”, but if you say that your interest/hobby revolves around guns then people flip a turd especially in Southern California.

Therapy

I’m interested in everything related to cars from studying them to driving them. I thoroughly enjoy detailing cars as well. I feel at peace when I detail my car on the weekends starting from the wheels to the paint and working my way to the interior. I honestly spend hours sometimes detailing my car and it doesn’t even feel like work! In those few hours I’m not thinking about anything else but just on the task of getting my car clean. It’s not just detailing cars that are therapeutic to me, but driving them as well. Driving down the coast in sunny SoCal weather with the sunroof open and windows down brings a smile to my face every time.

Motivation

I have been passionate about cars ever since I was a kid and now that I am older I use them as a source of motivation to becoming financially successful. One of my goals in life is to own a Lamborghini Aventador at 25 through my own hard work, and with that goal in mind I am way more motivated to work hard in whatever I do in order to reach that goal. My passion for cars motivates me, and when my passion runs endlessly then motivation comes a lot easier.
