Driver Gets Pulled Over Twice For Shoddy Lane Discipline In Ultimate Facepalm Moment

This scarcely believable footage from Surrey Police shows a driver show no clue about which lane to use, mere seconds after being educated by officers about lane discipline

There really arenā€™t enough Picard facepalm Gifs in the world to appropriately react to this short but infuriating video. It shows a car coming back onto the motorway, having just been ā€œeducatedā€ about lane discipline from Surrey Police, only to immediately ignore everything heā€™s just been told and pull right over to the outside lane of a completely empty stretch of carriageway. Was he listening? At all?

Judging by the hashtag used in the tweet about the driver was fined - needlessly hogging the middle and outside lanes of a motorway in the UK can leave you with an on-the-spot fine of Ā£100, plus three penalty points on your license.

From 2018, learner drivers in the country will be allowed onto motorways for the first time, which will hopefully have an impact on the scourge of middle lane hoggers in the long runā€¦

Well that is an absolutely stellar illustration of how utterly ignorant most British drivers are. Sure, our driving standards are impeccable if youā€™re used to Paris or anywhere in Italy, but sometimes you just want to grab people by the ears, shake them hard and check theyā€™re even awake.

Not on a motorway, but we were allowed on a dual carriageway. The only difference is that a motorway has a hard shoulder. Motorway rules apply to a dual carriage way (lane discipline, speed limit etc.). From 2018 learners will be allowed on the motorway; anything with 2 or more lanes and a hard shoulder.
