Would You Rather: Own An Appreciating Cayman GT4, Or A Depreciating Aventador?

If you were given the choice between an appreciating GT4 (itself an incredibly fast and accomplished sports car) or a Lamborghini Aventador supercar that will lose you money, which is it to be?

GT4 every time. Even if I could get one for free and never sell it, negating any financial profit/loss, I’d still choose the Porsche. It’s more of a fun car with power you can actually use, rather than a flash, understeering, penis compensation. Sure a V12 sounds glorious, but it’s ridiculously ostentatious. For people who care more about how they look than how much fun they’re actually having.

Well that’s a no brainer. The Gt4 is a very well balanced car. It’s also a jolly good daily.

If people were asked to choose between the Porsche and the Lamborghini, most would have gone for the Lambo, but since its mentioned that Porsche will appreciate in value, most are saying Porsche… Sad

What they don’t understand is that once production will stop, and Hybrid and turbo supercars will be generalized, the Aventador’s value will go up again. I’m pretty sure the clean ones will be worth millions one day.

I don’t really care about their value. I would never buy a car I wouldn’t enjoy every time I got in it. And that’s why I would pick the Cayman. It’s simply more fun than the Aventador.

You see, I don’t really care about the investment, I just prefer the Porsche. It’s nimbler, more aggressive. I want a sports car to either feel like it’s getting off to being driven or like it has a cactus up its as$. The Aventador is somewhere in the middle, it’s incredibly powerful, but tame and heavy. Great car just not my style, and many other people think the same.

I think the Lambo just because I’ll never get to own anything like it again. It’s amazing! I’ve driven a few supercars in my time. I’ve never driven the Cayman but IMO while the GTR’s/Gallardos/540’s and standard 911’s of this world are fun they don’t blow your mind like you might expect. For that you need to go a level up or two. Never driven the Aventador myself but I have driven a 458 special and the MP4 12C and for the Maclaren in particular it was like nothing else I’ve ever experienced. The Aventador is even faster so I’m going with that.

As much as I love the Lamborghini, if I could only own one, I’d choose the GT4 every time. It is one of the best drivers cars ever created, with a proper manual gearbox, a great chassis, and an engine you can really use to its true potential. Also, it can’t get much better than a GT4 on a twisty mountain road.

To be honest even though the Lambo is as flamboyant as it gets sitting inside you enjoy a car more on the back roads on a Sunday than sitting in traffic while people get to admire your awesome looking supercar, and considering that I’d go for the GT4 a fun drivers car
