So from my understanding, the direct drive transmission acts almost like a CVT, but instead of adjusting pulley’s and steel belts, it slips the clutch to simulate a certain amount of load.

Forget about Koenigsegg not getting the recognition it deserves as a car and company, let’s talk about Christian von Koenigsegg not getting the recognition he deserves as an engineer. This man continues to amaze everyone.
