I’d like to know what tires were used also, after all - they connect the torque to surface. It would be nice to have the BMW with the system on..

Wheel spinning = lost of traction. So obviously the Audi would win as the BMW driver just floors it.

Nothing matters more on snow than set of good snow tires.

Well, this is one case where having all that weight in the nose advantages the little A3. It probably has more weight over the fron axle than the BMW and on top of it, its AWD system is front track based, while the BMW is rear based.

Are you people blind???? Forget about tires torque etc! It is not even!!! Audi has traction control turned on an bmw doesn’t. OF COURSE with traction control turned on you get max grip and torque…

It’s an A3, so it weights less than BMW, so BMW had an advantage. Also A3 doesn’t even have a proper awd system, just a haldex.

A3 haldex , not a Quattro , get your s*it right.

We have an Haldex (“not real quattro”, as many here define a technology that, nonetheless, equips the whole Volvo lineup and, from what I read from their website, the Lamborghini Aventador too) versus a BMW xDrive system. But how does the system in the BMW work? What are its operational capabilities? Torque distribution? Has someone got infos about that? :)
