Twin-Turbo Viper Meets Tuned Hellcat In This Super-Close Drag Race

These modern legends of American performance have both been tweaked up to genuinely silly power outputs, but which will win in a drag race?

We love a good, close drag race, and this match-up promised to be a humdinger right from the start. What we have here are two modified American kings of speed: a tuned Dodge Challenger Hellcat and a twin-turbo Dodge Viper.

The Hellcat has been bumped to 825bhp and the Viper to 950bhp. The Hellcat has its sophisticated launch and traction control systems, but both cars wear drag-specific tyres.

Either the Hellcat has a shocking start or the Viper jumps it, but at the end of the strip just two hundredths of a second separate them, with one car travelling 10mph faster than the other. Who’s your money on?
