Top Gear Returns To Our Screens On 8 May, But Do You Care?

Chris Evans has revealed when the revamped series of Top Gear will begin, but will you actually be watching now Clarkson, Hammond and May have gone elsewhere?
Top Gear Returns To Our Screens On 8 May, But Do You Care?

Speaking with chef James Martin on BBC’s Saturday Kitchen, Chris Evans this weekend revealed that the first episode of the next Top Gear series will start on “Sunday May the 5th.” Calendar enthusiasts will know the 5th is actually a Thursday in 2016, so presumably that means it’ll actually start on the 8th.

He also mentioned that filming has started, and that the crew will be filming in the US in January. He said nothing about his potential co-stars - a subject of rampant speculation - but Evans has recently hinted that he may not have co-presenters at all.

The big question is, do you actually care? From what we’ve seen, amongst CTzens, interest in this revamped Top Gear is incredibly low, mostly due to the absence of Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May. And as most of you should know by now, following Clarkson’s contract ending after a fracas with a Top Gear producer, the trio is off to Amazon Prime to front a show which we’re sure most of you will be watching.

So, do you care about Top Gear any more? Will you be watching in May? Let us know in the poll below!

It’s been needing a breath of fresh air for a few years.

I hope they make it more about cars, instead of incidentally having cars in it.

Usually willing to give a car show the benefit of the doubt. So waiting to see what happens. After all chris evans does have a good idea of what made the show work in the first place so he’ll probably try make it work in his own way.

I’ll see what they have.
Not guaranteed to like it at first, but I’ll let it grow if I have to.

Rumored that BBC might change some of the format for the sake of a different personality, but I can hope they keep it going for a decent set of entertainment.

Will it be the same format? Or will it be a refresh like when they relaunched in 2002? I really hope the latter so it’ll be definite closure.

I will probably watch it, it’s a car show about cars and I like cars so I don’t see why I wouldn’t watch it, even if it is not as good as the previous show, it will still be a car show non the less.

Gonna give the first season a chance. It broke my heart when Jeremy couldn’t get a proper meal and had to punch a producer out, but that doesn’t mean top gear is dead forever. Plus I’ll have whatever show they have to watch in conjunction with Top Gear.
