There's A 104-Day Supply Of Honda Accords, Because They're Not Selling

By any measure, the new Honda Accord is a very good car. It’s the North American Car of the Year for one thing, and if you want, you can even have it with a detuned Civic Type R engine complete with a short-throw manual ‘box. Happy days.
The trouble is, saloons have fallen out of favour with new car buyers worldwide, largely thanks to the rise of the crossover. However accomplished it may be, the Accord isn’t immune, and sales have slow. In fact, Automotive News reports that the inventory of unsold Accords is so high, Honda has a 104-day supply to play with in the United States as of 1 March. Some dealers are even turning down shipments from the Japanese manufacturer’s Marysville, Ohio plant, because their stock levels are already much higher than usual.
Dealers across the country are reportedly pinning the blame on a lack of decent leasing deals. It certainly doesn’t help that the new Accord is more expensive than the old one, potentially putting off owners trading up from the previous generation when they’re presented with higher monthly payments.

In a statement to Automotive News, a Honda spokesperson said:
“We continue to work collaboratively with our dealer partners and appreciate our ongoing dialogue with them to ensure the overall value proposition with each of our products is competitive in the marketplace.”
However unloved the Accord may be in the US, it could be worse: demand for saloons is so weak in the UK, that Honda won’t ever bother bringing the car here.
Thanks, crossover lovers. Thanks a lot…

Crossovers are killing the variety
What are the odds that the they revive the Honda crosstour?
I really hope this crossover/SUV bubble bursts before it claims the lives of yet more interesting cars. I’m already losing sleep over the prospect of a “Z SUV” from Nissan or the use of the “Mach 1” Title on a Ford electric crossover.
Blyat those crossovers… NO ONE asked for them to exist in the first place!
If I could travel back in the past, I would kill the guy responsible for the development of qashqai, the mother of crossovers.
The Accord might not be selling that well but I’ve seen SOO many on the road and it’s very good looking!
Oh my god, stop blaming crossovers for everything! The market wants crossovers so that is what the market is going to get! It’s not the manufacturers fault, if they don’t build them, they will not be profitable and go bankrupt.
I still see new 10th gen accords at dealerships
Didn’t they recently lose vtec? Hmmmmmm🤔
I dont understand why prople love crossovers so much…. Lack of space in back seats, stulidly high for no reasson so you cant have as much fun in the corners as you should, and ofc if you want to put that hight in use you’ll definitely stuck in first mud…
