This Terrifying Exploding Canister Is The Reason For The Massive Takata Airbag Recall
It's easy to see why the Takata airbag recall is being taken as seriously as it is, when the explosive effects are put into a neat video like this one...
This is the root cause behind the Takata airbag scandal that has seen tens of millions of cars recalled across the world, and that has already caused almost 20 deaths.
Moisture can make it into the airbag and react with the ammonium nitrate that Takata uses to create the airbag inflation explosion, meaning that when the bag fires in a crash, the explosion is much, much bigger than it’s meant to be. It blows the gas canister apart and fires shrapnel into the cabin.
As you can see in the video above, it would be like crashing face-first into a frag grenade. The worst thing is that it could be years before all the affected cars are repaired…

Q: how’s business?
A: boomin
AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
basically a hand grenade. Makes me think of that one Top Gear episode when Clarkson said they should put a big spike in front of the steering wheel to make people drive more carefully, except now its a grenade
What about a spikey grenade?
I’ve seen worse
Fiert explosion of a bunch of rocks at your face at sufficient speed.
That some Peter Brock sh]t right there
Reminds me of Geobaz’s cacti airbag meme
BOOOOM!!! HEADSHOT!!!
Then after some time there will a new song: Rockin’ an’ Boomin’ !!
The moral of the lesson?
Buy their racing seats and belts instead.
