Ride Onboard A BMW M4 DTM Car For A Stunning 6min 15sec 'Ring Lap

DTM driver Augusto Farfus took to the Norschleife in a specially-prepared M4 DTM car, clocking a sensational 6min 15sec bridge to gantry lap time

Before you get excited about how close this lap is to Stefan Bellof’s legendary 6min 11sec record, it’s worth remembering that a ‘bridge to gantry’ lap cuts off a significant portion of the track.

Nurburgring blogger Bridge to Gantry reckons this would amount to a 6:35 - 6:40 full Norschleife lap, but as a counterpoint, Farfus wasn’t flat out for the whole lap.

The lap was part of some promotional activities for Shell, but we’d love to see Farfus head back out in this ‘Ring-prepped M4 DTM for another lap without any lifts…

Everyone crying about the weight of the GoPros, ignoring the fact that there is ANOTHER FULL HUMAN BEING sitting right next to the driver :D :D :D I think, if he was flat going Maximum Attack, the full lap would be under 6:11..

I reckon all those GoPros and filming equipment is heavier than the passenger :p
Jokes aside, a flat-out lap would be more than welcome.
