This Race Car's Door Was Blown Off While Travelling 174mph At The Nurburgring

This Setra Motorsport BMW M3-R driver was casually running at 174mph along a straight at the Nurburgring when suddenly the right-hand door was blown off – not something you expect to see while pushing a car to the limit on a race track

Setra Motorsport claims the door blew off at 280kph, which is around 174mph. Let’s just hope no one was following behind too closely.

Who knows, maybe the door was loose or it had been damaged and fixed back on in a rush? But it’s certainly something you don’t see very often!

No wonder he had to give it a second look, to make sure it had actually happened…

The new technology on these cars is amazing. On the fly weight reduction, wonder if that’s BMW patented.
