Mountune Will Boost The Ford Fiesta ST To A Mad 276bhp

Ford won't make an RS version of the Fiesta, but don't worry - an incoming upgrade kit from Mountune will nicely fill the void
Mountune Will Boost The Ford Fiesta ST To A Mad 276bhp

Despite persistent rumours to the contrary, Ford will not make an RS version of the current Fiesta. Ever.

We’re now all cried out over the lack of Fiesta RS, but thankfully, there is an aftermarket solution from those lovely ladies and gents at Mountune. The Essex-based tuner is famous for its warranty-friendly Ford upgrades that give a modest yet welcome boost in power, but the firm does also produce a few more serious, non-warranty-friendly tuning kits. And guess what: one’s on the way for the Fiesta ST.

Speaking to Autoblog, Ken Anderson - president of Mountune’s US arm - mentioned that an incoming upgrade kit for the smallest ST is in development, with a Garret GT2554R turbocharger at its core.

Thanks to the fitting of this bigger turbo plus a few supporting mods, the hot Fiesta’s power will be bumped to a positively scorching 276bhp. It’ll go on sale later this year, so there’s still time to get saving. Just make sure you budget for a limited-slip differential too…

The Silver Paseo EL54

It would require enormous amount of care because nowadays 280hp 1.6 turbocharged engine surely won’t be a reliability champion.

Its MR265 in the UK….its already out to…if they have stock hahahaha The UK kit uses a Hybrid turbo-charger.

Also to anyone saying that FWD can’t handle that power……don’t know how to set-up/drive a FWD car correctly.

Damn, this is sponsored content if ever I saw it. Revo do a 300 bhp package but you choose to report this instead?

The thing is, out of all mountune packages, only the MP kit is warranty friendly, the MR230 certainly isn’t warranty friendly, so I don’t see why they would make this warranty friendly. Besides, look to the like of Peron, Revo and Pumaspeed and they already have kits for around 330/350 for this car (I believe - don’t quote me on that, I may be wrong)

Apparently your local tire dealer will subsidize the kit

I had the opportunity to test a factory fresh Fiesta ST on Le Mans and that little car is already impressive in stock form. Of course it’s funnier in the corners and the Hunaudières are so long that you spend long seconds at around 225km/h which seems to be the max speed. I really think that this nimble car can take the extra horses offered by Montune but unless you are on a track, the stock one is enough to have fun.
