This Is The Most Comprehensive High-Performance Tyre Test You'll Ever See
If you want a set of reasonably large, high-performance tyres from a premium brand, you have a difficult choice to make. You could go for Michelin’s Pilot Sport 4 S, or perhaps the Continental Sport Contact 6. It’d be foolish to discount Goodyear’s new Eagle F1 Supersport boots, too.
But which is the better tyre, and are the premiums worth the money over mid-range choices? That’s what Tyre Reviews set out to discover at Continental’s Uvalde, Texas test facility. Here, the ‘Holy Trinity’ of premium performance tyres were put against the less expensive Falken Azensis FK510, Kumho Ecsta PS91, Toyo Proxes Sport and Vredestein Ultrac Vorti. Finally, there’s a budget option, just to mix things up a little further.

There are wet and dry handling tests, wet and dry braking tests, and even a noise test. It’s worth watching the full thing to get properly schooled up on those bits of rubber that keep you on the tarmac, but we’ll chuck in this one spoiler: the budget tyre is hilariously poor throughout most of the video. Try to act shocked.

For me, it’s the Landsail and Dayton branded tyres for my daily use. Super cheap and quite slippery in wet. Great for insurance claim accidents!

German motors demand german rubber. Anything less is sub-par. Germans have excellent rubber compounds so why put japanese or french rubber on your beloved autobahn cruiser? makes naught sense
