The McLaren MSO Carbon Series LT Is Another 675 You Can't Buy
The McLaren 675LT is a special bit of kit, so it’s no surprise that the 500 coupes and 500 Spiders scheduled for production were snapped up pretty quickly. However, a third option has now appeared, in the form of this: the Spider-based MSO Carbon Series LT.
As you probably gathered from the name, it’s all about lashings of carbonfibre. On top of the carbon already present in the boggo 675’s construction, a further 40 per cent of the body panels are made from the stuff. The front bumper, front underbody, side skirts, side intakes, most of the rear quarter (including the monstrous air brake) are all made of lovely CF, with a clear gloss finish so you can perv on the weave.
Other than the standard fitting of McLaren’s Track Telemetry pack, the Carbon Series is unchanged from the 675LT Spider under the skin. So, we’re looking at a 3.8-litre twin-turbo kicking out 666bhp and 516lb ft of torque, making 0-62mph possible in 2.9 seconds.
The catch? You can’t buy one of these 675s either, and not just because of the no doubt eye-watering price tag (McLaren hasn’t given one, but MSO stuff doesn’t come cheap). No, the biggest stumbling block is all 25 are already pre-sold…
