The starship gets a horsepower upgrade! If anyone has seen Lincoln's recent commercials, you'll know what I'm talking about. The much-vaunted EcoBoost system has finally arrived at Lincoln in it's first application, the MKS.

Ford is banking on the EcoBoost System to help it deliver on its fuel economy targets. The technology is quite amazing, providing that V8 power and V6 fuel economy. That is a point Lincoln emphasized heavily in it's press release for the MKS, stressing that V8 power has finally come to Lincoln's flagship model.

The EcoBoosted MKS provides 355hp, definitely at a great level if it wants to be considered as a V8. The technology is quite impressive, seeing duty next in the Lincoln MKT Crossover and Ford Taurus SHO.

Interesting fact: the EcoBoost engine in the MKS is the first direct injected twin-turbocharged engine to be produced in North America. First time for everything I guess!

Look for the technology to be implemented widespread across the line up over the next few years, even in small economy cars like the Focus. The MKS with EcoBoost gets a sports appearance package as well as suspension tuning, among other things. All that can be yours for just $47,760! (Just....) Pricing for the MKT with EcoBoost is yet to be announced.
