I’ve long thought that an engine-swapped 1-series coupe represents fast BMW perfection. This example - which Jay Leno is having a poke around - is probably my favourite sort, as it’s packing the delicious S65 4.0-litre V8 from the E9x M3 (made larger with a Dinan stroker kit).

There are several similarly converted 1-series coupes and 1Ms around the world, but I’m not sure any sound as raucous as this one…

Powerful BMW engine in a less powerful BMW car.

Chevrolets most swapped engine in an Iconic Japanese Car like an RX7, which has an AMAZING engine itself.

If you swap an LS into an RX-7 you change a very special engine with a standart Chevy V8.
With the BMW this isn’t the case since the N54B30TO of the 1M coupe is just a reworked version of the standart N54 engine and not completley M-developed.
The S65B40 found in the E90 M3 on the other hand is completely developed by M which makes it more special.
So this is exactly the opposite of LS swapping an RX-7.
