Mazda WILL continue developing the Holy Rotary. In fact, the new RX-Vision Concept has the new Skyactiv-R (Rotary) engine. A car with that engine will be on the market in some years
Well, technically, what you save on repairs of moving parts is quickly overshadowed by how much worse the fuel economy is. Although I do see the appeal of a rotary engine. It’s tiny, so you can shove it in a really small car and still get great performance out of it, but when it comes down to it, a typical internal combustion engine which uses cylinders is the more logical choice.
Too bad they like to break down in cold conditions like where Im from.
