Here's Your First Proper Look At The LaFerrari Spider (Updated)

It’s been one of the worst kept motoring secrets in recent years, but at last the convertible LaFerrari has been revealed. Well, kinda. So far, we only have these three images, which show a black LaFerrari Spider with red accents - a bit like those Tron wraps people have been doing, but more tasteful.

Ferrari has revealed a few details, including some information about the roof arrangement. Unlike Ferrari’s other mid-engined drop top - the 488 Spider - there’s no folding roof here. Instead, the LaFerrari makes do with a removable roof - a fabric version, or one made from carbonfibre depending on what you fancy.

The chassis has been modified to ensure that the convertible LaF is just as rigid as the coupe, and the aerodynamics have been fiddled with too, so it has the same drag coefficient as its tin top cousin even with the roof off.

The running gear hasn’t been changed, which means you get the same blend of 6.3-litre V12 and electric power to give a tasty 950bhp total output. Only this time, there won’t be a pesky roof getting in the way of that 12-pot soundtrack.

Want one? Tough luck. Even if you have the anticipated £1 million+ asking price lying around, you’re too late: all examples were sold after “a special preview to clients” earlier this year.

In don’t think so.
A targa construction is way to heavy.

Maybe a hardtop, just like Pagani Zonda roadsters.

Was there ever a time when roofless hypercars were not cool?

I’d rather have something called a Ferrari or McLaren than a ‘Porsché’. Sure it’s quikcer, but I bet that the P1 and F150 are more fun to drive.

It basically copied Koenigsegg with the “removable roof” thing.
