Here's Your First Chance To Listen To The 2018 Ford Mustang GT's Active Exhaust

One of the 2018 Mustang GT's most notable changes is the new optional active exhaust. Here's how it sounds...

While our stance is that the GT is the Mustang to have, we always found it a shame that the V8 in ‘our’ long-term test example wasn’t a little more shouty.

Happily, Ford has addressed the GT’s surprisingly muted exhast note, by giving the facelifted 2018 car the option of a trick active exhaust. Thanks to these two videos, we can get a good idea of how it sounds.

Neither clip shows the engine under load, nor do they show the ‘Stang revving all the way around to the red line, but it’s clear the new pipework gives the car a throatier sound. The pops and bangs aren’t excessive either. We’re rather looking forward to hearing it in person.

What do you think?
