The BMW M Performance parts division moves quickly these days. Almost immediately after the reveal of the new 1-series, for instance, BMW released images of an M135i with every available accessory chucked at it. And sure enough, Munich has done the same for the new M8.

The M8 already has a ‘Carbon Package’ on the options list, but if you want even more carbon, M Performance has you covered. Choose the whole lot, and you’ll end up with grille surrounds, an engine cover and ‘sill attachments’ all made from the stuff, with the naked weave showing under a glossy, car-wash friendly layer. While you’re at it, you could complement all that with some lovely little M Performance decals.

The huge brakes on the M8 - which feature six-pot calipers and 395mm discs at the front - don’t need a whole lot of help, but M Performance will supply you with a set of improved pads if you’re interested. They’re billed as “long-distance racing pads” which are intended to “enable more dynamic, racing-style steering when braking into a bend as compared to the standard configuration”. Nice.

In the cabin, it’s possible to spruce proceedings up with an M Performance Pro steering wheel, complete with carbonfibre and Alcantara trim, plus carbon paddle-shifters. You can option the paddles on their own if preferred, and - of course - there are M Performance floor mats available.

M Performance will also flog you branded wheel bags, handy for anyone swapping between summer and winter tyres, and there’s also a branded car cover in the catalogue.

The launch of the parts will coincide with that of the M8 itself, which will occur later this year.

Wait until you drive one… You’re sitting very low, you don’t the very much… You don’t want it to be any wider than it already is 😉
