With his car being dragged along while trying to cross a flooded road, things weren’t looking too rosy for this guy near Lima, Peru. However, his car was ‘caught’ by some rocks, smashing the windscreen and providing a convenient and very well-timed escape route.

He doesn’t appear too fazed about his ordeal however, as he’s seen taking the time to unplug his phone before casually exiting the stricken vehicle…

Thanks to the El Nino weather pattern, Peru has recently been hit with some of the most devastating floods it’s seen in decades. Over 70 people have died thus far, and this particular gentleman is incredibly fortunate to escape becoming an addition to the toll.

How do you want to blame him? You can’t blame him on the El Niño

Exactly my thoughts. I don’t know the whole situation, but saying he escaped death seems too much.

This driver was seriously imprudent. The current was extremely strong, even a lifted Land Cruiser or a heavy machinery could have failed to cross as well.

The water collides with the vehicle, causing it to push trough the whole side of it, pushing the car off the road, the combination of speed, lightness and water forcing its way under the chassis caused the car to lifts its 4 contact points with the ground, the wheels.

What he did was seriously stupid. Do NOT attempt yourself.

I believe this is a car from a Chinese manufacturer, so I doubt its quality. Windshields should NOT shatter, they break as a complete piece thanks to a plastic coating in between glass lamines. Shattering windshields have been forbidden for decades…
