Gridlock In Los Angeles Looks Strangely Beautiful
In the lead up to Thanksgiving, an ABC7 news helicopter captured the sight of the completely gridlocked 405 freeway
LA has a reputation for monster traffic jams, but the busy lead-up to Thanksgiving this year led to total gridlock.
The above footage was filmed by an ABC7 news helicopter earlier in the week, showing the 405 - apparently the busiest highway in the United States - at a complete standstill.
We’d hate to be in the middle of this mess, but from the air, it’s a weirdly beautiful sight…

I’ve been stuck in that traffic many times when I used to live there. Only time I’d ever take a slushbox transmission over a manual
Beautiful to look at, infuriating to be in.
When it’s not Christmas season yet but you are yearning for them red and white candy canes.
Forget that. Just at a red light I’m like…
This is worse than the M25…..
And that’s saying something
I used to have to drive around the M25. One night I was stuck in the same spot for so long I got out of the van and etched my name into the base of a bridge somewhere around Enfield. Did a really nice job as well. It should still be there…
looks like a christmas choreography.. ..
2wheels power come in handy 😎
So many cars.. so little movement..
When Christmas tree lightings are too mainstream.
I used to live in Solana Beach in San Diego on top of a hill. I remember coming round the corner walking the dog one evening and being struck by two things.
First, the Del Mar racetrack Christmas lights being a weird thing to see when you’re wearing shorts and T-Shirt. The other being the insane sight of traffic light that when you can see just two stripes, one of red and one of white.
Madness.
