Grab Yourself The Final N/A Honda Civic Type-R For Just £6k
As Honda continues to drip feed us tantalising bits of information about the new Civic Type-R - most recently its top speed - we thought we’d cast our minds back to the last hot Honda hatchback. With the new one going down the turbocharging route, the old FN2 looks set to forever be the last naturally-aspirated Civic Type-R.
The FN2, however, has never been held in as high a regard as the older EP3 and EK9 Civic Type-Rs. It’s heavier than the EP3 that came before it despite having a similar power output, dropped the independent suspension for a simpler torsion beam setup, and was seen as being a little more tame to drive. However, a quick look through the classifieds reveals that earlier examples of the FN2 are getting rather cheap. This one’s up for £5995.
Throw in a price like that, and you get an enticing alternative to a MkV VW Golf GTI and Mk2 Ford Focus ST. Even with the weight increase it’s still decently quick with a 6.8 second 0-62mph time, and looks (arguably) pretty handsome too.
