Good Guy Hennessey Will Be Turning The New Honda NSX Up To 11

With its twin-turbocharged 550bhp 3.5-litre V6 engine, innovative hybrid tech and adaptive all-wheel-drive system, the new Honda NSX is arguably the most advanced supercar on the market. Unfortunately, it’s been reported by many in the automotive press that the driving experience is a bit, well, underwhelming. Thankfully, for owners out there looking for a little more excitement, Texan tuning company Hennessey Performance is working on a range of performance upgrades.

CEO John Hennessey told Top Gear:
“When I first started out 25 years ago I modified a Mitsubishi, and soon after guys with the original NSX asked for their car to be tuned. We must have modified at least 200 of them.
So we’ve followed the story of the new NSX, and we really want to modify it when it arrives. Customers we served with the old one want us to do the new one, too. They don’t want to be kicked in the butt by friends with 675LTs and 488 GTBs.”
With advanced hybrid tech we suspect that the NSX will be a tricky car to work on, but Hennessey has already taken this into consideration, planning to focus solely on the twin-turbo engine. “It’ll be about improving efficiencies - exhaust back pressures, intercoolers, that sort of thing. It won’t be anything radical like a 1,000bhp NSX, but 50 to 100bhp [increase]? I think that’s what our clients will want.”

Hennessey’s website reveals that the range of upgrades will include an upgraded twin turbo system, a stainless steel exhaust, a new intercooler, and lightweight wheels. The NSX will enter production in late April, so the tuner has yet to get its hands on a finished example. As a result, expect these upgrades to be made available in early 2017.

It just needs a diet to be honest.
Are there any Acurate stats?
Well it might need new pistons and stuff depending on the power.
Reducing the weight might make a lot of difference..
Better exhausts, better brakes, and maybe a ECU remap to get it to rev to the redline faster, that’s basically all this NSX needs…Right? No?
Jeremy Clarkson would be proud.
Lovely to see! I like that Hennesey won’t push the car to 1000bhp. Even them needs a bit of variation
To bad John Hennesey isnt exacltly a good guy.
Thank goodness, some tweaks and upgrades to stop the driver from falling asleep.
POWAAAAAAAAA!!
