This Feel-Good Cinema Analysis Proves A Car Is Never Just A Car
We already know it; it's what separates us from non-car people, but this YouTube analysis of how the car is used in Western cinema shows how important it is
Stop what you’re doing for the next 12 minutes and watch this. YouTuber Thomas Flight has published a fantastic analysis of how cars are used in Western cinema, and it helps explain part of why we love cars so much.
Based on the premise that some people say a car is ‘just a car,’ the video dismantles the expression, examines the myriad ways that cars matter both on screen and in our perception, and demonstrates how a car is never just a car. It’s the feel-good upload that will help get you through the rest of this week. Enjoy!

i love this guy
Thats. thats deep
A man was once a king, and his house was his castle. However eventually, women took over the house, and a man was left with a shed. A garage.
And a man tought, why would I sit here, in my shed, next to my car, when I can go anywhere. Soon man realised that they are different, so they started modifiying cars. Some drove old classics, some drove Japanese monsters, some drove trucks, some drove exotics, some drove luxury cars, some drove big heavy powerfull muscle cars, some drove lightweight sports cars. As time passed, some drove petrol, some diesel, eventually some even drove hybrids and EVs.
But they all drove. The day we stopped defending our kingdom, our castle, our house, we haven’t lost. We won. We won the world. We stopped being friends and we started being a one huge family.
god that was beautiful.
beautiful yet true, who cares if its an EV or a LS swap RX7 or a Bozuku Skyline, we’re all car guys and basically we are family, even if its cars, bikes, trucks, we all share our love for wheels, and we all feel the same emotions. we truly are a big family
except those who use public transport.
“I dont tear up from CT comments.” crap.
