The Facelifted BMW M2 Has Been Leaked Early

It’s facelift time for the M2, and thanks to images appearing before they were supposed to on BMW Belgium’s website, we’re getting an early look. The pictures of the updated car were picked up by Bimmer Today before they were taken down, and as you can see, it’s a typical BMW facelift. By that, we mean you’ll be rather hard pressed to tell the difference.

As with the recent M3 ‘facelift’, the changes are limited to the internals of the front and rear light clusters. Handily, the leaked images seem to be retouched versions of existing M2 press shots, making for a nice, clear comparison (above).

Bimmer Today also grabbed some screen shots of the spec list, showing that the M2’s performance stats remain unchanged. That means 362bhp from the car’s 3.0-litre turbocharged straight-six, allowing a 0-62mph time of 4.3 seconds (or 4.5 for the manual).

Of more interest on the performance front is the much anticipated M2 CS, which is expected to come with a tweaked chassis and the ‘S55’ twin-turbo straight-six from the M3/M4.

I got it: The license plate is different!

Honestly, the car is beautiful the way it is. I’m fine with slightly changed head- and tailllights.
