Marlene Rodriquez is a very special person. A combat veteran with three tours of Iraq to her name, the Purple Heart recipient survived a firefight and two IED hits, before being forced to retire from the Army in 2009 due to traumatic brain injury.

She’s also a Dwayne Johnson fan, so the man himself decided to surprise her with a special gift: the 2018 Ford Mustang, which has only just been revealed.

She insisted she didn’t deserve it, to which Johnson replied: “You deserve more”.

Right in the feels.

Same, I never disliked the headlights, the bottom grille is still meh to me, but I really like the new headlights, they look much more like the 1965 than the 2015’s, even if they do look a bit too angry for my taste.

What I never will get is how you get someone a 2018 car in 2017. Sounds like nonsense to me. If it’s made in 2017 then it’s a 2017 unless it’s got a flux capacitor.

The car starts mass production in late 2017 so it can be at the dealerships in 2018.
What they showed her was a (probably hand-built) pre-production car used for testing and shooting advertisements.
She’s most likely not going to drive home in that, but get a “gift card” so she can configure and get one for free once they are officially for sale.

It has grown on me..at first I didn’t like it but now it has grown on me….I mean new mustangs do that for me all the time…I’m a huge Ford fan and I’m a huge mustang fan since I was very very young…I remember sitting in an ‘05 GT when I was 8 years old and that was it for me…I loved it..sure the interiors were crappie and the engine was huge without any power and the let’s not talk about the suspension…let’s just not…but for me, every time a new one comes along I don’t like it at first and then I begin to slowly fall in love with it…when I has a kid and the 2010 s197 came out I remember that I hated it because back then my favorite car was the 05 model…and then as I fell in love with it the 2013 model came out and it was the same all over again and till this day I believe the the 2013-2014 model year is the best looking one out of the s197 platform…then came the big shock for me and many other people…the 2015 mustang and oh god was that a hard transition to make…it looked so much different from the s197…at first I didn’t like it once again and then oh man I fell for it…all the lines all the curves, all the technology and the first official mustang available in Europe..it all just clicked…I saw it in person about 9 months ago and I had the chance to drive it…it was over I needed a mustang GT in my life…but there was room for improvement…and the new one fills all that was missing from the 2015 which I believe was already perfect for me.. sure it has a new face but you know what? I think I look terrible in pictures…my friends also think that I look terrible in pictures and they all tell me that I look a lot better in person…same goes for this car..from certain angles it looks really bad but in person I’m sure it will look a lot better..and same goes for pretty much every car out there apart from a few…so don’t judge it yet…wait to see it in person…looking at by the minute makes it better for me…it will grow on us I’m sure
