Driving The Nürburgring In The Rain At Night Looks Scarier Than Base Jumping
Leh Keen gives us a driver's eye experience of endurance racing. At night. In the rain
The 24 Hours of Nürburgring is just about the most gruelling endurance event in motorsport. Driving the Green Hell at night on little sleep is already hard enough, so when the heavens opened up on the weekend, drivers fought through treacherous conditions that later prompted officials to red flag the race for nine hours.
Just prior to this stoppage, Leh Keen was picking his way through spray and traffic in his Porsche 911 GT3 R. The 'Driver's Eye' video below highlights just how challenging the race had become, as he feathers the throttle and fights with the steering wheel to stay on the black stuff. Still think you've got what it takes to be a pro race driver?
