Car Cameo: Aiden Grimshaw ft. Old-Skool BMW E30 3 Series
Hardcore X Factor fans might remember this fella. Aiden Grimshaw came 7th in the 2010 competition but just like every other series of the ITV1 hit show, you don't necessarily have to win it to become a success.
Hardcore X Factor fans might remember this fella. Aiden Grimshaw came 7th in the 2010 competition but just like every other series of the ITV1 hit show, you don't necessarily have to win it to become a success. His debut single 'Is This Love' was released last month and there's an album on the way in August.
Ok, that's the minority of you interested in the musician sorted. Now for the car featured in his latest music video. Like Calvin Harris and Example, the video features a timeless classic rather than a fresh piece of expensive metal. Unlike Calvin & Elliot's video though, there's no hot pursuit but instead a soppy touching moment between the driver, his girlfriend and the car on their romantic drive. Then they have fun doing donuts in gravel. D'aww.
Forget those scooters, this 1986 E30 BMW 3 series is what interests me the most. It's the second compact saloon/coupe/estate from BMW but it formed the base of the first ever M3, which had a 2.3-litre block that produced 195hp giving it a 0-62mph time of 6.9 seconds and a top speed of 146mph. Like the current 3, plenty of engines were available including the poor person's 1.8 with 90hp and a much more juicy 2.4-litre 6 cylinder unit with 115hp.
What gets me though is why Aiden himself walks and then takes a train. C'mon son, you've got a record deal! Get yourself a nice set of wheels - that's if you can drive that is. Check out the 'Curtain Call' below but be warned, it's one of those rubbish ballads. Sick of those damn things.
