Bertone Has Officially Gone Bankrupt And Won't Be Saved
The legendary Italian design house has been declared bankrupt, after a buyer for the ailing business couldn't be found
When it was revealed earlier this year that legendary Italian design house Bertone had entered bankruptcy proceedings, we desperately hoped that a buyer would be found. After all, this is a company that’s responsible for automotive greats like the Lancia Stratos and Lamborghini Countach. Sadly, this hasn’t happened, and it’s been reported that Bertone has now been declared bankrupt. According to Wards Auto, Bertone racked up a colossal debt of €31 million (£26 million) in under five years.
The company’s remaining assets will be sold off. These include a collection of its cars - which can only be sold as a complete collection - plus land and buildings in Turin.
