The Audi RS3 Saloon Sounds Predictably Spectacular As It Belts Around The Nordschleife
The saloon version of the Audi RS3 has been spotted undergoing testing at the Nurburgring. Sounds good, no?
The fantastic warbly exhaust note you hear in the video above is all thanks to a brand new version of Audi’s 2.5-litre turbocharged inline-five, which we’ve already seen in the TT RS. It’s likely the power output will be dropped a tiny bit, but even so, we’re looking at an Audi RS3 Sedan - as the ‘Muricans will call it - with getting on for 400bhp. And speaking of ‘Muricans, it’s understood that unlike the RS3 Sportback, the four door version will actually make it over to the United States.
So the question is: would you rather one of these, or the incoming, V6-powered RS4?

All I could hear was understeer #sorrynotsorry
Couldn’t really see it tho
that’s mostly just the tires squealing, i only saw a little bit of understeer
Then it passes a true audi.
Dear Audi,
Can all of your cars have an option of a five-cylinder for an engine?
Sincerely,
Mickey Mouse
And who’s paying for them?
Sincerely,
Audi
I’ve always loved the RS3. This sounds great but although they have those funky wraps on in testing phase, is the design really changing that much? A quick Google search shows that the 2017 model really isn’t changing at all.
sounds as good as the group B s1 , just not loud enough ,guess armytrix will change that :3
Can anyone explain to me why companies stopped putting 5 cylinder engines in their cars?
Effficiency, the environment and other hippy nonsense.
All that money, all those smart engineers and their camouflage still sucks… I can totally see it.
thank god this is coming to murica
5-cylinder is a poor man’s V10, and I’m totally okay with that. Need this.
I have one, and I concur.
Audi is going full Lada Riva on it’s entire range of cars.
It will be in the EU aswell right?
