This Aston Martin Face Transplant Is A Toyota GT86 Body Kit Nobody Asked For
There are few thing more cringeworthy in this world than people who won’t accept they’re not rich. The same mentality that encourages people to stick fake badging on their ordinary cars will likely cause strange people to purchase this rather bizarre Toyota GT86 bodykit from Japanese modders DAMD. The idea, apparently, is to make your 86 look a bit like an Aston Martin…
The most prominent nod to the luxury auto maker comes from the redesigned front bumper, with its integrated Aston-esque front grille. Unfortunately the same people who’ll know it’s supposed to be an Aston Martin will also immediately notice that those are definitely GT86 headlights perched either side. The kit also comes with a new rear bumper, boot spoiler, and ‘86 Vantage’ badging to let everyone know you’re committed to whatever this is supposed to be.
The interior has also been overhauled, with vast swathes of leather stretched over the GT86’s uninspiring cabin. Unfortunately, no matter how many cows you skin, you can’t hide the fact that this car has one of the plainest centre console designs of any modern car - it works in a bargain, driver-focused car, but looks a little odd here.
If you’re interested, the kit will set you back about £2600 ($4000), but let’s be honest, there are a million better things you could do to your GT86 for that kind of money…
