The Aston Martin DB9 remains one of the most gorgeous and alluring cars you can buy today, but it really is getting on a bit. It’s now 11 years old, and in places - particularly on the inside - that’s been starting to show. However, even though a replacement will be with us in the next few years, Aston has seen fit to give the DB9 a final refresh - inside and out - to create this: the DB9 GT.

Naturally, the changes that caught our attention first were the ones under the bonnet: the venerable 6.0-litre naturally-aspirated V12 is now good for 540bhp, up from 510bhp. 0-62mph is possible in 4.5 seconds, while the top speed is 183mph.

The dated dashboard has been replaced with a fresher design similar to the one found in the Vanquish, while the infotainment system has been ditched in favour of Aston’s snazzier AMi II unit. The seats are clad in posher ‘Glen Coe’ leather and come with a set of embroidered GT badges, so that your passengers know just how much of a baller you are.

On the outside, the front and rear light clusters have been given a little fiddle, while the front splitter and rear diffusers are now painted black. Oh, and there’s a rather lovely new set of 20-inch wheels, which owners will no doubt be petrified of kerbing.

The DB9 GT is available to order as a coupe or ‘Volante’ convertible, and replaces the existing DB9 range. Want one? It’s yours for £140,000. If that’s a little too steep and you’re content with just ogling it, head along to the Goodwood Festival of Speed this weekend, where it’ll be on display.
