Arnage Replacement Spied
The replacement for the Arnage has been endlessly teased and speculated about, given it's importance for the Bentley brand. Rolls-Royce currently has it's entire business built off the back of it's most expensive sedan, the Phantom.
The replacement for the Arnage has been endlessly teased and speculated about, given it's importance for the Bentley brand. Rolls-Royce currently has it's entire business built off the back of it's most expensive sedan, the Phantom. Volume is on the way with the Rolls-Royce Ghost, but it clearly shows there is a lot of money to be made in the segment.
In addition to being captured by CAR Magazine, Bentley has released various teasers on the car that have given us a few certain clues. So far in terms of design, the pictures taken by CAR have given us the best look yet, showing off a new headlight design. But today, Auto Expresshas captured the car testing with it's pre-production bodywork. The images give us a good idea of just how big the car is.
The shots just speak for themselves, don't they? Something about each picture being worth a thousand words I guess.... One thing is clear though: the car is huge - Rolls-Royce Phantom huge. The new car looks visually much bigger than the outgoing car it replaces - sources say the increase is at least 30 centimeters (about 11 inches).
Power is to come from a next-generation version of Bentley's 6.75 liter V8 that is rumored to produce up to 550 horsepower, pushing the huge sedan all the way to an astonishing top speed of 200 mph. In addition, while economical and Bentley are two words highly unlikely to ever be associated, diesel and hybrid models of the car is said to be considered.
The Arnage replacement will debut at 2009's Pebble Beach Concours D'Elegance on August 16th. My interest is piqued about the name! Wonder what Bentley has planned for that?
