Another Limited Edition Special, The Honda Civic Type R MUGEN 200
One could yawn almost reflexively about this, the Honda Civic Type R MUGEN 200, which is yet another limited special edition from Honda. Especially when you realize that the Honda Civic Type R MUGEN 200 will be an England only type of release, sadly.
One could yawn almost reflexively about this, the Honda Civic Type R MUGEN 200, which is yet another limited special edition from Honda. Especially when you realize that the Honda Civic Type R MUGEN 200 will be an England only type of release, sadly. But it's a nasty looking little beastie, ain't it?
Essentially the Honda Civic Type R MUGEN 200 is a less hardcore version of the fully tweaked out Civic Type R MUGEN that Honda of England rolled out a while ago. Less hardcore as in "without the performance upgrades." The original Civic Type R MUGEN was crammed full of all sorts of goodies, the most impressive was the 240HP 2.0-liter i-VTEC.
They only made 20 of that version to be sold in the United Kingdom. And Honda was asking an immense £38,599 per copy, which is around US$60,300 or €44,400 at today's exchange rates. Ouch.
The Civic Type R MUGEN 200, which, as you might be able to guess, is called that because only 200 examples of the special Type R models will be made with sales set to start in the UK in April. The special edition model is based on the three-door European model of the Civic Type R and features the same 201-horsepower 2.0-liter high-revving i-VTEC as the standard model.
The Civic Type R MUGEN 200 will be offered exclusively in a Championship White exterior finish paint. And the MUGEN 200 also features the same aero bits and bobs as seen on the 240HP model. Those include a new front bumper, side skirts, a ginormous, look-at-me-and-give-me-a-ticket rear wing. There's also a different rear bumper with an integrated diffuser. Tucked within said diffuser are two jumbo-sized tail pipes.
You'll also get 19-inch alloy wheels, glossy black door mirrors and Mugen badges. You'll also get the ubiquitous individually numbered plaque as well as the standard limited-slip differential to complete the MUGEN package. Humorously, Honda says that " ... a range of tuning parts to enhance the chassis will also be available as dealer fit options."
So I can get the Honda Civic Type R MUGEN 200, and then make it just like the original Civic Type R MUGEN. How curious.
