The 2018 Ford Mustang Will Rev Its V8 Heart Out All The Way To 7500rpm
Way back in January, we showed you pictures of the updated Ford Mustang, which includes a sad face as standard. But don’t worry, you won’t be feeling blue when you hit the rev limiter at a delicious 7500rpm.
That’s right, a spy photo on Mustang6G.com has revealed that the 2018 ‘Stang will have a 500rpm increase over the current car, meaning it’s now only 750rpm short of the flat-plane crank, 5.2-litre V8 found in the Shelby GT350. The work done to the 5.0-litre ‘Coyote’ V8 might do something about 20bhp deficit against the current Chevrolet Camaro SS.
The Camaro will remain lighter of course, but the Mustang will come with new shock absorbers (with an adaptive system being optional), a new cross-axis joint at the back plus new stabiliser bars to help it in the handling department.
The 2018 Mustang will go on sale in America in a couple of months, with releases in other markets happening soon after.

Mustang 2020: 9k rpm Red line.
Mustang 2120: holy sh!t
2030 Mustang: We’re basically using a formula 1 V8, since the redline is 18k RPM!
Muscle car fanboys “nooo only Japanese cars rev high, must keep our eagles and guns and low Revving v8s!”
I mean it only took them a few decades… I’m not a Ford hater but the Honda S2000 went to 9000RPM… in 1999. Audi’s RS4 4.2 V8 revs to 8500RPM in a freaking estate.
Cough GT350R Cough
You would be surprised about how many classic muscle car guys like high revving engines.
Americans love high revving stuff! All motor V8 builds have to have higher RPM to reach their horsepower goals
Too bad it’s ugly tho…
The looks have already grown on me to be honest
I think its better looking. Also looks aren’t the most important thing
It can now spin the wheels faster, therefore making crowd plowing more easy
Hell yes.
It looks pissed
I don’t get why everyone hates it. It’s actually quite nice and aesthetically pleasing, not to mention it looks to be quite a bit more aerodynamic. It makes the last gen look quite outdated.
Looks like the attention seeker car is starting to get somewhere.
Because of talk of them ploughing crowds, that’s why I call Mustangs attention seekers.
As an AE86 guy, I highly approve of this development
So the 2018 Mustang will look terrible and sound terrible, fantastic.
