The 200mph F-Type SVR Will Be Available As A Convertible Because Jaguar Likes Noise
It was supposed to be Jaguar’s big moment at Geneva - the SVR, the most hardcore F-Type we’ve yet seen. Only we’ve seen it already, because a few images and some stats leaked last week. Oops.
So, Jaguar has now announced that we will indeed be seeing the car in the metal at Geneva, while also confirming a couple of details seen in the leak. Firstly, that it’ll be available as a coupe and a convertible. The reason there’s a drop top? Well, this is “so that enthusiasts can revel in the sound from the new titanium exhaust system.” Yep, that’s in the press release.
Jaguar also confirmed that the car will indeed do 200mph, although this is presumably referring to the coupe only - last week’s leak gave a top speed of 194mph for the drop-top.
We’re also looking at 576bhp and 516lb ft from the familiar supercharged 5.0-litre V8, giving a 0-62mph time of 3.7 seconds. Both the coupe and convertible will be all-wheel drive.

I’m extremely proud of how jaguar has changed as a business since its take over. They have moved from boring “old man” cars to these beautiful pieces of engineering. It’s nice to see such a positive change in such a difficult market.
Well the market for ‘old man’ cars is just as big as ‘young man car’ so …
“My Jaaaaggggggggg can go 200mph, and its a cabrio” smug face
I want one. Take my kidney. And house.
can we open a petition for you to shave your 70s porn tash?
That’s cool and all, but there is absolutely NO WAY that I’d do close to 200 with the top down.
The coupe looks incredible… it has to be the most beautiful car on sale right now.
Not with that wing. I really wish they would’ve gone with a ducktail.
Sam of seenthroughglass be like
They really turned it around following the same model as Cadillac did. I;m glad for them
