I drive a mk2.5 Focus with the same engine as the Fiesta ST. 150bhp 2.0 litre petrol n/a is pretty entertaining in a Focus, I imagine the Fizzer is a right hoot!

Never said it was the best BMW ever, but it sure is not the worst BMW ever made.

I got my 9-3 for 500$USD. Needed a crank shaft position sensor, haha. Dude couldn’t get it started. I drove home with it.
And who put a cougar on this list?

The E36 316i Compact is much better as daily driving because of the 1.9L 105hp engine (E46 one) and the torque available from 2500rpm.
I had one, Avus Blue, 16” M-rims, M-tehnik, M-Aero, Business package with more sound insulation, and with a few mods you can really drive it like a Diesel (changing gears at 1800-2000rpm without a problem).
Fuel consumption average at 6.5-6.9 and mine was having the top speed at 220kmh on the dashboard after the mods. Not bad for a “105hp” engine.

Actually mate, if you search more an E36 Compact with the M3 engine is FASTER than the real M3 on a track/rally.
Why? Because of the short chasis, better balance and it’s way harder to over-steer it.
I am not saying it’s very pretty but with 140hp and a cost of 1000-1500EUR, it’s a pretty good deal.
In DE you can buy an M-Tehnik Compact E36 with ~1300-1400EUR (full Alcantara, sport seats, M-aero, M-rims and so on). It’s a pretty good deal.
