Hi fellow muricans , i was wondering if the crown victoria is a great platform for racing? Can we get some hp out of the v8 in it? Are there performance parts for the crown victoria? How much a victoria interceptor go for (in acceptable condition)?

If i get one in the future i’d like to swap to a 5.0 coyote from a stang or a 6 cylinder turbo from a ford falcon , tell me if these swaps would be great or not ;)

Theyre not terrible cars, hence why the police use them. As for racing though they are pretty heavy.

Heavy, slow dogs of cars. You won’t catch the averageaverage sports-car-owning criminal in this, let alone win a race.

in canada i see them go anywhere from $2000-$5000 and would definitely go for the coyote 5.0 swap. squeeze any power you can from it as they are heavy cars.

Unless you’re planning on redoing the whole car do not buy a cop car. They beat the ever loving crap out of em almost every day. There’s a reason they sell really cheap.

if you want something decently cheap, RWD, but also standard and about half the weight buy a 2-door from the ’80s, like a Foxbody Mustang, Camaro/firebird, VW Scirocco/Porsche 944, FC RX7, BMW E30. but that’s just my opinion so take your time and choose wisely

If you want a fun, and most importantly, fast American car, it’s certainly best you don’t go with a Crown Vic. They’re reliable and good for their time, but by today’s standards a little hot hatch could smoke it in a race. Try a 4th gen F-body (specifically 98-02) or a 5th gen Mustang.

From 2008 these police vics actually come with a 5.0 coyote in them.

Cown vics are a boat… but there is no governor on them cause they are cop cars. there are lots of performance parts cause its the same 4.6l V8 that they stick in the mustang. motors are great because they are designed for hard service such as taxis and police cars. they are fast and fun i have the same motor in my ford explorer. also easy to work on and there RWD!!! also everything in the car is beefed up as well cause PD cars are a bit faster than stock and stronger over all!
