Nissan owns infinity so in reality nissan owns the skyline name
First of all its Infiniti not infinity, but Nissan gave Infiniti the right to use the Skyline name.
There is no such thing as Infiniti in Japan.Infiniti Q50, for example, is sold as Nissan Skyline in Japan.Of course, outside of Japan, Skyline is not a thing anymore. It’s a good move, actually.Skyline without GT-R modification wolud ruin the entire name and since Nissan made GT-R a standalone model, there is no point in Skyline GT-R.You see, GT-R is what made Skyline’s name. And V35,V36,V37 are not the most Sports oriented cars, so calling them Skyline would be pointless.
Is there even a difference between the Skyline 350gt and an Infiniti G35?
Steering wheel placement and badges, mainly. I’m sure there are a few other minor details too, though.
I don’t know if Nissan ever did it, but I read an article awhile back in which a Nissan rep had stated that the new Q50 would not be badged as a “Nissan” Skyline, but as an Infiniti, as to remind Japanese people that they were buying a world class car. I don’t know if that ever panned out, though. Anyways, Nissan owns Infiniti, so they still have hold hold of the Skyline nameplate.
I know that mate, but all I’m saying is that Nissan don’t use the name but Infiniti does.
You are an idiot.
It’s just getting funny now.
For once.. I have to agree with you, haha.
Can somebody please explain to me the point/meaning of this post?? Skylines were imported to North America starting with the V35, and are sold as Infinitis here.
I don’t realize what people are apparently not realizing…
girls…girls…make love! not warthrottle!
G35 here, Skyline GT350 in Japan. Easy to understand. R32-R34 fanboys just don’t want to get butthurt thinking that there was an actual successor without a twin turbo i6.

Side note, my G35.
