You Can Now Have A Ferrari GTC4Lusso With A Turbo V8 And RWD

Ferrari's grand tourer has become the latest exotic car to be hit with the downsizing trend, but don't worry, you can still buy the V12

Like the idea of a GTC4Lusso, but find the idea of a socking great V12 a little excessive? We have just the car for you: the GTC4Lusso T. As you’d have probably gathered, the T - adding more complexity to an already unwieldy name - stands for turbocharged. Yep, the FF successor can now be purchased with a twin-turbo V8 nestling under its long bonnet, but before you panic, the V12 is still very much available.

It’s the 3.8-litre unit found in the California T, but despite the drop in displacement and cylinders, you won’t be wanting for performance. It kicks out 602bhp, a 72bhp drop compared the V12 model, but it’s also lost the four-wheel drive system - saving 80kg - while the 560lb ft of twist on offer comfortably trumps the V12’s 514lb ft. As a result, it’ll do 0-62mph in 3.5 seconds, just a tenth off the 12-banger.

There’s no word on economy and emissions figures just yet, but judging by the California T, it should be a hell of a lot more economical than the V12, despite being damn near as quick. Something about having cake and eating it comes to mind…

Want one? No prices have been revealed, but expect a reasonable drop from the V12’s £230k tag, perhaps a number starting with a 1 rather than a 2.

If it’s a case of ‘error 404: money not found’, you could just settle for gawping at it during the Paris Motor Show, where it’ll make its public debut.

I think I’d still take the V12. 4WD is more practical, and think of the noise!

I think this is the first Ferrari in years to have their signature four rear lights.

I always thought that they should use a turbo V8 for California and FF (GTC), and a naturally aspirated V8 for 458 (488) and naturally aspirated V12 for the F12
In other words, I’d rather they used a naturally aspirated V8 for the 488 and a turbo engine for the GTC4Lusso

I think the FF should use a V10 instead.

All very well and good but buying one of these with a turbocharged V8 while the V12 is still available is a bit like going to a prostitute for a cuddle…

Still not affordable, lol. We need affordable shooting brakes!
Anyway, what a sexy car the GTC4Lusso is… Wow! And the V8 turbo isn’t that bad either.
