JDM Car GFX Series with Timelapse and Tutorial
I was inspired to create some cool graphics or GFX for cars, and naturally since my favourite cars are JDM cars, I did some JDM cars. I designed each one and you can see the process for each one as for each one I’m going to put the image, then the timelapse video and a little description about each car, so I hope you enjoy this.
The first one I tried was naturally the Toyota Supra since my favourite JDM car is the Toyota Supra, infact it is my dream to own a high Horsepower Toyota Supra one day! For this one I had the Ridox Front bumper, splitter and canards, with the Work Meister S1 wheels and the TRD style Rear wing. However since it’s the first one I did it hasn’t come out quite as well as some of the others! You can see the time lapse video for the Supra down below:
Next up is the Nissan S14, I went for the Kouki because I prefer the Kouki style headlights to the Zenki style ones. It would be another dream of mine one day to own a S14, S14 and Supra would be a great garage with the Supra being more street orientated and the S14 being stripped out for drifting! I decided to put it in green as that is the colour of one of my favourite drifters Forrest Wang, his S15 is in green however when he drove an S14 that was also in green. The timelapse video for the S14 is below:
I’ve always liked Skylines, infact before the Supra, the R34 Skyline was my favourite car! So it wouldn’t be right not to make a GFX for the R34 Skyline as well! I went for the GT-R as obviously that is the best level of Skyline that there was, R34 was of course famously in blue so I went for a nice deep blue for the colour and I decided to add the Rota Grid Drift wheels to the car as they look aggressive and I feel they suit the car well! You can find the time lapse down below:
As well as the R34 I decided to do the R33, same wheels, however I went for a nice yellow colour as I had seen some yellow ones in videos and thought it looked pretty good, obviously went for the GT-R variant of the R33 as well! However for this one I decided to make it into a tutorial as well as a timelapse so you can learn how I make my GFX! Timelapse/Tutorial below:
Onto the widebodies, some people don’t like them, some people love them, personally I think they look pretty good so I decided to do this Liberty Walk widebody Nissan R35 GT-R, this is one of my favourite ones that I did as it looks so aggressive with the striking body lines, bolts sticking the kit on and with that massive wing too, especially with the side view! Timelapse for the Liberty Walk R35 GT-R below:
This is the other widebody car I did, BRZ, GT-86, FRS - Whatever you call it, they’re practically the same car, I gave it the Rocket Bunny treatment, and I love the way it turned out, especially with the rear of the car! You can see the timelapse for it below:
So thank you for reading through this and watching them, next up I’m planning on doing Supercars and Hypercars and I’ll upload that to car throttle once that’s done as well!
Update: Didn’t expect this to get over 100 upvotes but we smashed 100 upvotes so thank you to everyone! If you want to get updated on the progress of the Supercar GFX as soon as I do each one then you can subscribe my YouTube channel here: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCN6DtZJ_-fLeUKv7BztUYjA where I upload each time lapse. Once I have got about 4 - 6 Supercars/Hypercars I will make another article similar to this one and upload that to CarThrottle! Thanks

These are really cool!!
Thanks!
Looks really cool! I want to try that. What kind of software do you use? Is it photoshop?
It’s paint.net which is a free program
Wow! That was cool! Can you make a 05 WRX Wagon?
I’m taking a break from JDM for a while to focus on Supercars however when I revisit JDM then I will definitely try and feature a Subaru, admittedly I don’t know too much about Subarus however looking at it on google the 05 Generation is the one I would probably do, probably not a wagon though as I’m doing the coupe/sedans version for most of the cars!
Is this the first time you used paint.net cause the results are really really good
Thank you, No it’s not the first time I’ve used paint.net I’ve been using the program for about a year or two every now and then
That is amazing
Thank you!
These are so cool, please make more
I have no intentions of stopping!
These are really cool! I’d like to see an RX7 if you ever get around to making one
I’ve moved onto doing a few supercars now, however after that I will revisit JDM as there are many cars that I haven’t got around to doing yet and the RX-7 is on the list of cars that I want to do when I revisit JDM
